Girard-Perregaux was founded in 1791 and has one of the longest histories in Swiss watchmaking. From the very beginning, Girard-Perregaux has made a name for itself as a manufacturer with an integrated in-house production system. The company has a strong connection with Yokohama, where Francois Perregaux, a member of the founding family, became the first Swiss watchmaker in Japan at the end of the Edo period (1603-1868), and introduced the concept of Western-style watch culture and time.
The company's technical expertise, for which it has acquired more than 100 patents, is still alive and well, and its lineup includes the Loréato model with an integrated bracelet, the Vintage 1945 with its sleek square case, and the Bridge, the culmination of its technical expertise.
