Grand Seiko's "Thick Silver Radiation" dial with a beautiful shine
Shinshu, where Grand Seiko's workshop is located, was once a major silk production area. The "Thick Silver Radiation" dial is a tribute to this production area. The fine radial pattern on the glossy dial, as if lines had been drawn in silk, is an expression of respect for its roots. This delicate pattern can only be drawn with soft silver, so a special technique is used for silver plating to achieve it. The movement in this watch is Grand Seiko's original Spring Drive. The second hand glides across the dial without making a sound, which is one of the unique features of the Spring Drive movement. The maximum winding time is about 72 hours (about 3 days), and the remaining time can be checked on the power reserve display on the lower left of the dial.
