The “Portofino Perpetual Calendar” is the smallest timepiece in IWC’s lineup of models featuring a perpetual calendar, with a case diameter of 40 mm. It features an 18-karat red gold case, a silver-plated dial, gold-plated hands and upright hour markers, and a blue calfskin strap.Developed by Kurt Klaus in the 1980s, the perpetual calendar mechanism automatically recognizes the number of days in each month and leap years, eliminating the need for manual adjustments until the year 2100. The calendar information is displayed on three sub-dials. Additionally, the gold moon phase display, set against a starry sky, boasts exceptional accuracy, deviating by only one day every 577.5 years. The see-through case back offers a view of the in-house Caliber 82650. Equipped with a Pellaton automatic winding mechanism reinforced with ceramic components, this robust, high-quality movement offers a power reserve of up to 60 hours.
