The Portuguese Automatic 40 is a compact model that brings the distinctive design of the Portuguese to the compact size of 40 mm.
The dial is simple and uncluttered, with only a characteristic minute scale and small seconds at "6 o'clock" position. This is a design style that was born with the Ref. 325 introduced by IWC at the end of the 1930s and has been consistently inherited throughout the long history of the Portuguese collection. Now, the classic dial design, which has always given a modern impression, is revived in the new Portuguese Automatic 40 with its compact 40 mm case diameter. The IWC-manufactured 82200 caliber, a robust, high-quality self-winding movement, uses wear-resistant ceramic parts in the Pellaton automatic winding mechanism and stores a 60-hour power reserve. The model has a stainless steel case with a blue dial and rhodium-plated hands and appliquéd indexes. The newly developed butterfly folding clasp on the black alligator strap ensures an extremely comfortable fit.
