Since its founding in 1884, Breitling has been a Swiss luxury watch brand dedicated to creating "instruments for professionals." Known as a pioneer in chronograph history, the brand developed the world’s first wristwatch with an independent push-button chronograph in 1915. In 1999, Breitling announced that 100% of its models would be chronometer-certified, and the brand continues to boast unparalleled precision and reliability.
For this fair, we’ve prepared an extensive lineup covering every field—land, sea, and air. Among these, we’d like to introduce the ultimate all-around sports watch that Common Time is particularly proud to recommend this season.
Since its debut in 1952, Breitling’s “Navitimer” has been beloved around the world as the epitome of the pilot’s watch. The “AB0138211B1A1” is the “Navitimer B01 Chronograph 43,” a model that faithfully inherits the watch’s most classic DNA while evolving into a sophisticated modern luxury timepiece.
At the 12 o’clock position, the winged logo of the “AOPA (Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association)—once recognized as the world’s largest pilots’ club and designated as an official timepiece—has been reintroduced, evoking a sense of nostalgia for the good old days.
The domed, double-sided anti-reflective sapphire crystal and the redesigned, flat rotating slide rule combine to create an unprecedented slim and sleek appearance.
From the “Navitimer”—which has continued to shine as an icon of aviation timepieces since its debut in 1952—comes a special timepiece crafted exclusively for Japanese fans. Based on a slightly smaller 41mm case that sits comfortably on the wrist, the Japan-exclusive “Navitimer B01 Chronograph 41 Japan Edition” features a striking contrast of black and gold that exudes overwhelming elegance and a sense of grandeur.
The bidirectional rotating bezel is crafted from lustrous 18K red gold. Furthermore, the hands, hour markers, and the re-introduced “AOPA Wings” at the 12 o’clock position are all finished in gold, creating a breathtakingly beautiful design.
In 1984, at the height of the quartz watch era, Breitling unveiled the “Chronomat” with the aim of reviving mechanical watches. Developed in collaboration with the Italian Air Force’s aerobatic team, the “Frecce Tricolori,” this watch combines the rugged durability needed to withstand the harsh conditions of the cockpit with the elegance that makes it suitable for formal occasions. The “AB0158101C1A1” is an authentic sports chronograph with a beautiful blue dial that carries that original spirit into the modern era. The four “rider tabs” positioned at 15-minute intervals on the bezel are a signature design element of the Chronomat. They not only protect the crystal but also ensure excellent operability even when the pilot is wearing gloves.
