Iconic design has a magical power. IWC created such an icon nearly 80 years ago with the Portuguese. Today's Portuguese Automatic beautifully captures the typical design elements of the Portuguese collection, including appliquéd Arabic numerals, a chapter ring with railway track scale, and graceful leaf hands. This model features a silver-plated dial with rhodium-plated hands and appliquéd indexes. Powering the timepiece is the IWC-manufactured 52010 caliber. The movement is equipped with a Pellaton automatic winding mechanism with virtually wear-free ceramic components and stores a seven-day power reserve in two barrels. The see-through sapphire-glass back allows the wearer to admire the inner workings of the mechanical system.
