Glashütte Original's acclaimed Senator collection is now available in new colors.
The Roman index dials of the Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moonphase are now available in silver and rose. Watch enthusiasts who appreciate German watchmaking craftsmanship will recognize these new pieces as having features unique to the Senator Excellence line. The hand-crafted timepieces clearly show design elements from the original Glashütte archives of the 19th and 20th centuries. The newest addition to the collection is therefore a testament to the 180-year-old Glashütte Original's timeless approach to Glashütte watchmaking.
The first watchmakers settled in Glashütte in 1845 based on a well-thought-out plan. One of the basic principles, and the secret to their success, was the production of high-quality watches suitable for everyday use. The original Glashütte watchmakers are still pursuing the same goal when developing the models in the Ceneta Excellence line. The new models have also been meticulously decorated, assembled, and adjusted by hand. Like a shoemaker's finely stitched shoe or a wedding band perfected in a goldsmith's workshop, the result is a discreetly elegant mechanical watch suitable for all aspects of everyday life.
THE NEW SENATOR EXCELLENCE PANORAMA DATE MOONPHASE DESIGN IS A CONTEMPORARY INTERPRETATION OF NUMEROUS HISTORIC GLASHÜTTE WATCH STYLES. THE DIAL'S FROSTED SILVER AND FROSTED COPPER COLORS ARE INSPIRED BY THE RICH MINERAL DEPOSITS OF THE ERZ MOUNTAINS, WHILE THE FINE GRAIN FINISH EVOKES THE COOL DEPTHS OF THE ROCK INTERIOR. THE HAND-FINISHED ROMAN INDICES ARE SOLID GOLD COATED IN BLUE AND COMPLEMENT THE POLISHED BLUE PEAR-SHAPED HANDS AND THE SECOND HAND WITH DOUBLE G LOGO. THE MOON PHASE PEEKING THROUGH THE CURVED APERTURE ADDS POETIC EXPRESSION TO THE CLASSIC COMPLICATION.
The design and manufacturing teams developed the Seneta Excellence line under the guiding principle of "simply perfect" from the very beginning. The understated elegance of this latest creation with panoramic date and moon phase conceals extraordinary robustness. For example, the round 40 mm diameter stainless steel case with its slender bezel and brushed/polished finish serves not only as an elegant frame but also as a fundamental foundation. The movement is an innovative bayonet type, attached to the case by twisting it like a camera lens. This makes the overall construction highly shock-resistant and ensures that the watch will be your everyday partner for many years to come.
