Long a supporter of ocean exploration through its Blancpain Ocean Commitment (BOC), Blancpain made a bold and expressive statement of Fifty Fathoms with a model adorned with pink and black mother-of-pearl. Now, the 38mm line has expanded to include more classic and versatile models. While there is a particularly strong demand among women for sporty, technically advanced timepieces that look good on thinner wrists, the 38mm format is not gender specific. It appeals equally to men who prefer a more modest, lightweight case. In short, the Fifty Fathoms Automatic is now a line for everyone.
The new 38mm model is equipped with the Blancpain Manufacture Caliber 1150, a self-winding movement oscillating at 3 Hz with a 100-hour power reserve and excellent antimagnetic properties thanks to its silicon balance spring. The sapphire crystal caseback reveals sophisticated finishes, including a NAC-coated 18K gold rotor inspired by the original 1953 design.
