GIRARD-PERREGAUX SPECIAL 2DAYS at COMMON TIME YOKOHAMA MOTOMACHI] Girard-Perregaux Event
To celebrate the launch of the new L'Oréat Fifty, Girard-Perregaux will hold an event with touch & feel, an exhibition of historical pieces, and an opportunity to experience the history of Girard-Perregaux and the special L'Oréat Fifty, which is limited to 200 pieces.

L'Oréat Fifty:
Heritage renewed for over 50 yearsIn 1975, Girard-Perregaux launched a model that would become an important chapter in the history of modern watchmaking: the Loréat. Designed, developed, and manufactured entirely in-house, it entered the field of elegant sports watches with its integrated bracelet and chronometer-certified quartz movement. In this anniversary year, the brand celebrates its half-century with the launch of the L'ORÉALT Fifty, produced in a limited edition of 200 pieces. The Loréat Fifty pays homage to the past by continuing the unique character of the Loréat watch, while at the same time taking Girard-Perregaux further into the future.
The L'Oréat watch made a name for itself with its ingenious design: an octagonal bezel on top of a pedestal that rests on top of the case, and an integrated bracelet. The design was the work of Girard-Perregaux's in-house designers, and its flowing silhouette, reminiscent of architecture, not only deviated from but transcended traditional watchmaking norms. The designers of the time were not deviating from traditional watchmaking norms, but rather transcending them: (1) the models that appeared in the watch industry at the same time, which had screwed corners and (2) the traditional cushion-shaped models with rounded edges. embodying luxury and setting trends rather than pandering to them.
This philosophy is also reflected in the Loréat Fifty. Inspired by the original model, the new collection is faithful to the historical design while integrating a number of cutting-edge technologies.

Housed in a new case measuring 39 mm in diameter and 9.8 mm thick, the watch is faithful to the original model in a graceful combination of steel and 3N yellow gold.
The combination is reminiscent of the first bi-color model launched in 1975, but with a contemporary edge. The tonneau-shaped case has also been rethought, with more acute angles and a more pronounced chamfer, and the bracelet is more integrated. The brand's iconic octagonal bezel is alternately satin-brushed and polished for a subtle, sophisticated and appealing reflection of light. The sapphire crystal is flat on both the dial and caseback sides, which contributes to the overall clever visual effect. Unusually for this type of watch, it is water resistant to 150 meters.
The dark sunray gray dial is decorated with Clous de Paris and is complemented by indexes and hands that are color-matched with the watch's 3N gold. The central seconds are balanced by double-arrow counterweights, the GP logo, and an aperture at 3 o'clock displays the date against a background in a color matching that of the dial. These are all advanced finishes and details that show absolute respect for the norms of haute horlogerie.

The birth of a new caliber is always a major event for a manufacture like Girard-Perregaux. Peering through the see-through caseback of the Loréat Fifty is the GP4800, the result of several years of development, this new self-winding movement combines advanced technology, performance, and reliability thanks to its silicon escapement and variable inertia balance. Designed with the expertise of Girard-Perregaux's watchmakers, with particular emphasis on longevity and energy efficiency, and with more than 10 different finishes to maximize its aesthetic appeal, the GP4800 is more than its aesthetic and technical features; it is a simple movement with only the first hour, minute, second, and date displays, It is also a historical milestone, with a structure inspired by the three bridges that have now become Girard-Perregaux's emblem, a contemporary expression of Girard-Perregaux's savoir-faire nurtured by over two centuries of rigorous standards and creativity, and the highest level of construction in mechanical watchmaking. The highest level of construction in mechanical watchmaking is finally expanding beyond the tourbillon.

More than just a commemorative model, the L'Oréat Fifty is also the brand's declaration to combine the past and the future, tradition and innovation, discretion and audacity.
